Delete your Broke College Kid account

Request account deletion

1. In the app, go to Settings > Delete account, read the confirmation, type DELETE, and choose Delete forever. When deletion finishes, you are signed out.
2. Alternatively, email begreat@brokecollegekid.com from your account email with the subject Delete my account. We may verify account ownership before processing your request.

What is deleted

Your sign-in account and profile (including bio and profile photo), posts, replies, reactions, uploaded photos, budgets and transactions, checklists, schedules, journal, study activity, degree plan data and files, follows, friend invites, league memberships, preferences and all other app content are deleted. Account deletion is permanent.

Retention and timing

Account content is removed from active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days. Payment and tax records required by law are retained only for the applicable legally required period, which depends on the record and legal obligation. They are not kept as an active member profile.

Copies or screenshots saved by other people are outside our control.

Cancel subscriptions separately

Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your Apple or Google account to stop future charges: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, or iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions.

For a website subscription, in-app deletion cancels it before removing your account. For an email request, ask us to cancel your website subscription as well.

Delete only some data

You can keep your account and delete individual posts in Messy Roommates, journal entries in Journal, or uploaded degree plan files and degree plan data in Checklist > Degree plan. You can remove your profile photo or change your bio in Edit profile. For other data-removal requests, email us from your account email and specify what you want removed.
